WELCOME TO SACRED FIRE ASHEVILLE

Thank you for your interest in Sacred Fire,

Fire is one of the original teachers of humans.  For our ancestors, Fire was essential for life and it still is today.  Fire provides light in the darkness and warmth in the cold as well as a place where stories are told, community issues resolved, wisdom passed on and connection felt.  Fire—commonly known as the elemental presence of Heart— provides balance in our lives and a place to put the challenges of today’s world in perspective. It’s a source of wisdom, transformation, and compassion. FIRE awakens connection to ourselves, to each other, and to the natural world.

Sacred Fire, a 501(c)(3) non-profit community service organization, provides a doorway to healing, growth, and learning for people and communities.  We offer gathering spaces, as Fire has done throughout human history, to connect in community. Sacred Fire hosts fires around the world — United Kingdom, Australia, Mexico, Colombia, Canada, Ireland, Scotland — and in numerous locations across the United States.  Community fires are hosted by Firekeepers who are trained in the time-honored principles of Fire Work; how to expand and enrich our relationships through the connective and transformative power of Fire.  See https://www.sacredfire.org/

Sacred Fire Asheville gathers  on the land we steward in Weaverville, NC.  Our local fire was lit in 2000, where monthly community fires, men’s and women’s fires and special events and ceremonies continue to this day.  In 2012, a new shelter was built and enlivened ceremonially with the love and support of community.  It was given a traditional name which translates to “Sacred Fire Council House” and given a purpose; to be a beacon of inspiration for others to bring heart into the world.  As initiated Firekeepers, we have made a lifelong commitment, with the support of Fire, to hold a space that enriches relationship with ourselves,  each other, and the living world. Together, with the participation of community volunteers, we offer experiences of heart and connection that support being fully human through the seasons of our lives. Benefits are carried into our homes, communities, and the world.  Read more
